"For years I believed great relationships happened to other people, never to me"

The good news is it doesn’t have to be that way!

"I didn't think a great relationship was possible for me, not after everything I'd been through"

I spent years dating men who were wrong for me. From infidelity to DV, It felt like it just wasn’t meant to be. I honestly didn’t think great relationships were even a possibility by this point.

I wasn’t careless, unintelligent or unwilling to try. I simply didn’t understand why I kept ending up in the same place.

The turning point:

Eventually, I reached the point where enough was enough.

I’ve always been fascinated by human behaviour and relationship psychology, so I decided to stop guessing and work out exactly what was going wrong.

I studied attachment styles, communication, compatibility, boundaries, personality disorders and the subtle signs of dishonesty. More importantly, I looked closely at my own choices and patterns with the help of an amazing counsellor.

I began to recognise where I ignored warning signs, accepted too little or let hope override what was actually happening.

What changed?

I created clear guardrails for myself.

I became more intentional about who I dated, what I wanted and what I would no longer accept. Whenever I slipped back into an old pattern, I examined why.

Slowly, dating stopped feeling like a confusing game of chance.

I learned how to choose differently.

That's how I met Dan.

For the first time, I experienced a relationship that felt secure, loving, respectful and genuinely happy. I honestly hadn’t believed a relationship could be this good.

Why I became a Relationship Counsellor

My own experience made me realise how many people struggle in relationships, not because there is something wrong with them, but because they were never taught what to look for, how to communicate effectively or how to stop repeating familiar patterns.

I wanted to help other people in an area I'd struggled so much, relationships.

Fascinated by what I'd learned and how much counselling had been a part of my journey, I studied to be a Counsellor and became an ACA-registered Counsellor and Supervisor, specialising in relationships.

Today, I work with individuals and couples across every stage of the relationship cycle.I bring professional training, practical strategies and lived experience to the work I do.

For couples, I specialise in Gottman Couples Counselling. An evidence-based, skills focussed approach that teaches practical solutions for communication, conflict and connection. These are the skills I use every single day in my relationship and they are the missing pieces that could change so many relationships for the better.
